Meet Wendy Morton MP, former Chief Whip

The Cities of London & Westminster Conservatives are delighted to welcome the Government's former Chief Whip, The Rt Hon Wendy Morton MP to join us as Guest of Honour for a drinks reception in central London. Champagne, canapés and nibbles will be served to guests during the reception. There is limited availability for this event, so book soon.

The event will take place from 7 - 9 pm on Tuesday 22nd November.

Standard tickets for the evening are £40 per person. Tickets for Young Conservatives (under 26 years of age) are £30 each.

Former Government Chief Whip

Wendy Morton MP Appointed Chief Whip

Wendy Morton was Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury (Chief Whip) between 6 September 2022 and 25 October 2022.

Previously she was Minister of State in the Department for Transport from 8th February 2022 to 6th September 2022.

She was a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Transport from December 2021.

Wendy was Minister for Europe and Americas at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Wendy was appointed as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development on 13 February 2020.

Wendy was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice from 26th July 2019 to 13th February 2020 and Assistant Government Whip from 9th January 2018 to 26th July 2019.

Wendy was first elected as Conservative MP for Aldridge-Brownhills in May 2015. She was a member of the International Development Committee from 2015 until 2018.

Wendy attended The Wensleydale School Leyburn, and then studied at the Open University.

Before becoming a Member of Parliament, she began her career in the Diplomatic Service, before working in the private sector in sales and marketing.
