Join us for a fun dessert party with the Pimlico North and Vincent Square wards, tasting a variety of sweet treats in the company of the the Rt Hon Alec Shelbrooke MP.

The Cities of London & Westminster Conservatives are delighted to welcome the The Rt Hon Alec Shelbrooke MP to join us as Guest of Honour for a special dessert party in Central London. There is limited availability for this event, so please book soon.

The event will take place from 6:45 - 9 pm on Tuesday 12th December.

Alec is a terrific speaker with huge experience, and will travel far in British politics. We are thrilled that he will be joining us for the evening. We therefore hope that you will be able to join us for what promises to be an excellent evening in good company.

Alec Shelbrooke MP
Former Defence Minister

Alec Shellbrooke MP

Alec Shelbrooke was Minister of State for the Ministry of Defence between 6 September 2022 and 26 October 2022.

He attended St George’s Church of England Comprehensive School in Gravesend, before going on to study Mechanical Engineering at Brunel University.

Alec was elected the Conservative MP for Elmet & Rothwell in 2010. He served as Parliamentary Private Secretary in the Department for Transport, the Department for Work & Pensions, the Northern Ireland Office, and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office between 2010 and 2015, before joining the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Alec was Vice-Chairman (International) of the Conservative Party between 2017 and 2020, a role which involved building relationships with political parties internationally to enhance democratic institutions in the developing world.

In 2020, Alec was appointed Head of the UK Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and served as Chairman of its Defence & Security Committee until September 2022.

Alec is a Mechanical Engineer by profession and had a successful career outside of politics before he was elected to the UK Parliament in 2010. Latterly, Alec worked on international research projects with the University of Leeds.

Alec lives at the heart of his Yorkshire constituency with his wife and two dogs. He is a Formula 1 enthusiast and follows football and cricket.
