The results of the GLA and London Mayoral Elections in West Central were announced at the count held in Olympia on Friday 7 May.
Watch the Returning Officer Stuart Love announce the results and listen to the acceptance speech from GLA Assembly Member Tony Devenish.
Tony said,
Good evening. Being reelected as the London Assembly Member for this very special part of London is a huge, huge honour.
I pledge to continue to hold whoever is mayor to account, to build more homes, to keep transport moving, to improve our environment, and keep Londoners safe, and to reopen Hammersmith Bridge.
Thank you, Mr. Returning Officer, not only for what you've done today, to you and all your staff, and local councillors, for all you've done, particularly in the last year during COVID, working with our NHS Communities and business.
I'd also like to thank everyone who voted regardless of party, our police of course, and our One Nation Conservative Government, and our Prime Minister.
There are a few very special people I'd like to mention by name. I want to really mention hundreds, but we haven't got the time. So I'll just mention a few key people in my campaign, James Cockram, Andrew Foster, Ross Allan, Clare Hambro, Kate McCarthy, Nickie Aiken, Felicity Buchanan, Greg Hands, and of course Shaun Bailey AM.
Thank you all. It has been a huge pleasure.
Finally, I'd like to thank Rita Begum, great candidate and all the other candidates who stood, I am now off to the local pub to support our West London economy, and turbocharge the economy going forward.
Thank you, and good night.
