Two Cities MP Nickie Aiken, visited Vertex Pharmaceuticals, a global biotechnology company which invests in scientific innovation to create transformative medicines for people with serious diseases.

Nickie was fascinated to sit down with Andrew Hollingsworth, Associate Director of Government Affairs & Public Policy, and the team to hear about the cutting-edge research they are doing.

Since 2006, they have invested over £6.1 billion in UK operations from their HQ in Paddington.

Paddington is becoming a UK hot spot for the life sciences sector. With companies like this investing in the area and with a complete redevelopment of St Mary’s Hospital with the NHS’s largest biomedical research centre in the works, Nickie looks forward to Paddington going from strength to strength.
