City Drinks with Nickie Aiken MP
The City of London Ward were delighted to welcome Nickie Aiken MP to a drinks reception they held on Thursday 20th October.
Following the Annual General Meeting of the City Association, the newly elected ward committee welcomed over 50 guests to a private drinks reception with their local Member of Parliament, Ms Nickie Aiken MP. Nickie took the time to chat at length with guests, and address their concerns. She then went on to give a speech about the current political situation, and explained why she thinks it is so important to carry on with the important work of local Conservatives politics, regardless of whatever is happening on the national scene. She thanked the ward for all the excellent work they do for the CLWCA and congratulated the new committee on their election.
The Ward were thrilled that this event completely sold out, and provided an excellent opportunity for local party members to get together, catch-up and recognise the appointment of their new CLWCA ward committee.
Newly elected Chairman, Michael Kucharski, remarked that he was
...thrilled to see so many smiling faces supporting our ward... the City really matters, and it is terrific that you have all joined us today to get together for a lovely evening.
In her speech, Nickie echoed this, saying that
No matter what happens down there in Downing Street, the fantastic work of the City must, and does continue. It is a pleasure to be here tonight, and I thank you all for the amazing work you are doing...
