While the introduction of the Boris Bikes has been very successful in many ways, some of the siting of the bike stands has caused concern, particularly in the West End ward where curb side space is at such a premium.
One location of particular concern was in Foley Street where a bike stand took the place of the only space where local businesses could have deliveries.
Following Cllr Jonathan Glanz’s intervention with the transport department, and more particularly with TfL, they have now agreed to relocate the bike stand to restore the availability of loading facilities. This has delighted local businesses and will not affect the availability of Boris bikes for those who use them. This is exactly where detailed local knowledge of the area and its uses is so important to help shape this kind of provision. If you have any similar issues please get in contact so that we can help.
