Hammersmith Bridge has now been closed for close to nine months. The bridge’s closure has disrupted local life and the commute of those who rely on it to get to work. Local people and all regular user of Hammersmith’s Bridge deserve better. We need a solution.
While busses have now been reorganised, much more needs to be done to minimise the disruption caused by the closure. The interests of locals must be prioritised.
Assembly Member for West Central Tony Devenish remarked, “I welcome Greg Hands’ petition to re-open Hammersmith bridge. I completely agree with him that this is what Hammersmith’s local people and commuters urgently require.”
Hammersmith Bridge must be re-opened as soon as possible. Tony added, “I call on the Mayor to commit to working with myself and other GLA colleagues to make this a reality.”
