Today Mark officially opened the brand new Marylebone Boys School and helped launch the poetry and art competition of Never Such Innocence, a charity dedicated to educating young people about the First World War.

For many years, Westminster parents had expressed their concern about the lack of provision for boys at secondary level in the borough so it was with utter delight that Mark was able to cut the ribbon on Marylebone Boys, a new Westminster school that aims to offer an academically rigorous education with an emphasis on good behaviour.

Speeches by Mark, the new headteacher, Richard Ardron, and Edward Wild, co-chairman of Never Such Innocence, were followed by the reciting of poems by four of the MBS students:

• ‘Dulce et Decorum est’ by Wilfred Owen read by Kit Nyman-McKinght and Lucas Paul Mueller
