In a debate on the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill, Nickie Aiken, Member of Parliament for the Cities of London and Westminster, spoke out and championed your voice.
In the City of London, should your councillors rent a home from the Court of the Common Council, part of the City of London Corporation, they lose the right to speak out or vote on certain issues.
This is because of Section 618 of the Housing Act (1985).
Nickie is firm in her belief that local councillors must be able to speak out on issues that affect their ward and spoke out in the House of Commons to make this view known.
