Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, marked Holocaust Memorial Day, the anniversary of the liberation of the former Nazi concentration and death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, in 1945.
Across the UK – and the world – people came together to remember the horrors of the past and took the time to remember the victims and pay tribute to the survivors.
Ahead of the day, Nickie also signed the Holocaust Educational Trust's Book of Commitment to honour those who were murdered during the Holocaust as well as pay tribute to the extraordinary Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people today.
At a time when we have seen an unprecedented rise in antisemitism, Holocaust Memorial Day gave us all an important opportunity to reflect on the darkest times of European history.
