The summer concerts are fun for many but they create too much noise for many residents close to the park. Following residents' complaints and your councillors' intervention, the Royal Parks has brought in a change of style and a different promoter. Six of the nine concerts permitted under the licence will be held on the weekends of July 5th- 7th and 12th - 14th and in between those weekends the plan is to allow free entry to the site which will include food markets, stalls, cafes and plumbed in lavatories. The stage will be repositioned in a way which the promoter says will reduce the noise heard by residents. A stakeholder group has been set up to get residents' input on plans to control noise, litter and crowd dispersal. Your councillors will be holding the Royal Parks and the concert promoter to account regarding their promises to keep noise for residents down whilst increasing it for concert- goers!
