Your councillors are working with the police, the UK Border Agency, street wardens and others on a strategy to tackle on-street vice in Westminster.
Increased night time patrols have led to two convictions, applications being made for five ASBOs and a series of cautions and cease and desist letters. Westminster Council has prepared extensive evidence of the harmful impact on the community of this problem. This evidence should make it easier for the courts to impose Anti Social Behaviour Orders, creating geographical exclusion zones where offenders can immediately be arrested if they return. Information for sex workers on how to seek help for addictions is also being made available.
Residents can call the non-emergency 101 police number if you suspect street vice or kerb crawling, or 999 in case of violent behaviour or if you suspect a child is involved. You can also contact Safer Neighbourhood Team officer Ken Taylor on 07768 178187 or [email protected] to report disturbances or detritus.
