This afternoon there was a debate on the Holocaust Memorial Bill where Cities of London & Westminster MP Nickie Aiken spoke in the Chamber about this important proposal. Prospective MP Tim Barnes explains,
"We have real concerns about the costs, poor consultation and, most of all, the difficulties of securing this specific site.
"There should undoubtedly be a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust at a suitable location in central London, but this is not the right one.
"Westminster City Council, local police and others involved in community safety have all expressed similar concerns."
(Sorry for the poor sound, but it was raining and windy!)
