Two Cities MP, Nickie Aiken, was delighted to return to the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral and catch up with Bishop Kenneth from the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, and project manager, Andriy Marchenko.
The Ukrainian Welcome Centre continues to grow, offering more events, classes and information sessions for our Ukrainian community.
Until 6 September, the centre is hosting a cultural and artistic exhibition, Art for victory: Britain with Ukraine, selling 150 pieces of art from more than 40 Ukrainian painters to raise funds to purchase ambulances for the Ukrainian army. It's an inspirational fundraiser.
Since the invasion of Ukraine, thousands of people have generously opened up their homes to more than 130,000 Ukrainians through the Government's Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme. Nickie understands with the growing cost of living, many are worried about the future and will work with the Government to continue building on its generosity to sponsors.
Nickie adds her thanks to everyone in the Two Cities community who has opened up their home and offered a safe haven.
If Nickie can be of any help, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
