Councillor Jonathan Glanz reports:
I am pleased to welcome 65 new affordable housing units at Trenchard House in the heart of Soho replacing the long-empty former Police Section House.
The site, at 2 Hopkins Street, was formally opened by Mayor of London, Boris Johnson MP, and is will offer homes at a discount of up to 75% of market rate.
Delivered by Dolphin Living in partnership with Barratt Homes, the 65 affordable units will be aimed at those currently living and working within Westminster, on modest or middle incomes.
Below the new housing there is also a ground floor retail space and a basement restaurant.
London is a thriving city with a strong economy. Property prices, to buy or to rent, are becoming increasingly more expensive, and I believe that developments like this, which will be attainable by those earning the proposed national living wage, are a welcome addition to our area.
