The Conservative-controlled Westminster City Council has arranged for the refurbishment of two hundred decommissioned Council laptops. The laptops have been distributed to help vulnerable families hitherto without computers. As individuals and families stay at home, it is vital they stay connected, to facilitate home-schooling and reduce loneliness. Modems and sim cards have been issued to twenty-eight households otherwise without internet access. The laptops were professionally wiped in line with industry-standards before distribution, to ensure appropriate data-security measures were taken.
Despite the lockdown, our local Youth Club, The Fourth Feathers, continues to offer an online service for young people. The Club Manager has been distributing family-activity packs.
