Throughout the crisis Assembly Member Tony Devenish has been working hard on a local level.
During these challenging times, it’s important not to overlook local issues. Tony observed that, “Attention is, understandably, focused on the national impact of the coronavirus, but I strongly believe that local concerns should remain a priority. I always try to work with our local MPs and councillors, in the best interests of people living and working in our part of London.”
Whilst Parliament has been meeting virtually, Kensington MP Felicity Buchan has been making the case for clear accountability in buildings' fire risk assessments. You can find out more here.
Tony Devenish commented, “I join Felicity’s calls for greater fire risk accountability. It is absolutely crucial that tower block’s fire risk assessments are accountable. We must learn from Grenfell Tower’s mistakes. I will continue to make sure that lessons are learnt so that such an event can never repeat itself.”
Cities of London & Westminster MP Nickie Aiken is calling for regulation of pedicabs, to make them safer and less disruptive. You can find out more and show your support for the campaign by clicking here.
