The latest figures from the Metropolitan Police Service reveal that crime in our city is increasing at an alarming rate. The Mayor is responsible for policing in London and these figure reveal his inability to keep local people safe.

Knife crime is up 52% compared with last year, gun related crime is up 30% and instances of robbery are up 59%.

West Central Assembly Member Tony Devenish commented on the latest crime figures stating, “These shocking statistics demonstrate the Mayor’s inability to tackle crime and improve our city’s safety. He has repeatedly chosen to fund cultural events while neglecting to properly fund our police force. He has allowed crime to spiral out of control. These horrendous figures are a direct result of his negligence. Our city deserves better. ”
