MP for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken today joined the celebrations for National Dog Day.
Nickie caught up with Cllr Jacqui Wilkinson, the Animal Welfare champion at Westminster City Council, to learn more about the interesting fountains that are keeping our furry friends hydrated.
Marking the day, Nickie said,
"It's National Dog Day, and I'm here with Councillor Jacqui Wilkinson from Westminster City Council, who is the Animal Welfare champion.
"Jacqui, great to see you on this special day with Georgie as well. We're here in St George's Square dog walking area. We have this interesting water fountain. Tell me about it."
Jacqui replied,
"One of the residents around here, thought that dogs actually needed something to drink. And we actually have this special water fountain put in, and it's both for dogs, so dogs drink from the fountain down here, for filling up water bottles, and for humans up here. And it's, it is absolutely amazing when there are so many dogs here. Especially the big ones, they just love to come and have a drink. So it's something for everybody."
Nickie responded,
"Brilliant, excellent, another brilliant idea from our Animal Welfare champion and the people of Pimlico."
