We are delighted that leading economist, broadcaster and Daily Telegraph columnist Roger Bootle will be joining us, in these extraordinary times, as Guest of Honour at our 2022 Economics Dinner.

Roger will speak on on ‘What should a Conservative Economic Policy Be?’ during the Dinner. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

The Dinner will be held in a Private Members' Club in St. James's.

Reception from 6.30pm, sitting down to Dinner at 7pm. Carriages at 10pm.

Tickets include a glass of wine on arrival and two course dinner with wine or soft drinks.

Roger Bootle

Roger Bootle is the founder and chairman of Capital Economics, one of the largest macro-economics consultancies in the world. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and a regular columnist for The Daily Telegraph. Roger was a Specialist Adviser to the House of Commons Treasury Committee from 1998 to 2017. Under Chancellor Kenneth Clarke, he was appointed to the panel of Independent Economic Advisers, the so-called “Wise Men”. He was formerly Group Chief Economist of HSBC and a Visiting Professor at Manchester Business School. In 2012, he was named Economics Commentator of the Year and, together with a team from Capital Economics, won the Wolfson Prize. He has also written several books, including his widely acclaimed book, Making a Success of Brexit, and the prophetic The Death of Inflation, published in 1996. His latest book is The AI Economy – Work, Wealth and Welfare in the Robot Age. He appears frequently on television and radio.
