Nickie Aiken, Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, raised alleged war crimes from Russian troops against Ukrainian civilians in a meeting with the Foreign Secretary, Elizabeth Truss MP.
Nickie explained,
"I've just been to a briefing with the Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss, regarding Ukraine and the United Kingdom's support and the West's support for the Ukrainians as they fight Russian aggression.
"I brought up the serious issues we are seeing now of alleged war crimes, particularly the use of rape against Ukrainian citizens by Russian troops. And she assured me that the British government is doing all it can, working with the Ukrainian government and other partners under the Murad Code to ensure that evidence is gathered and that when it is possible, we will bring those who are the perpetrators against this disgusting use of rape as a weapon, to justice."
