Nickie Aiken, Member of Parliament for the Cities of London & Westminster, joined Guy Opperman MP and Lord Davies, both Ministers at the Department for Transport, as well as Simon Thomas, owner of The Hippodrome Casino, to discuss the pedicabs issues faced in the West End.
It's the pavement-blocking, blaring music which can go on until the very early hours of the morning, and stories of a tourist or visitor being charged hundreds of pounds for a journey that lasts just a few minutes. That's why we need pedicab legislation and Nickie is delighted that the Government has taken on our Pedicabs (London) Bill.
The Bill is currently making its way through Parliament, having been debated in the House of Lords and is now at its Committee Stage. Nickie hopes that the legislation will make its way to the Commons in the New Year.
