Enjoying Summer in the City of London earlier today, Prospective MP Tim Barnes shares episode seven of Diary of a Candidate. Tim says
"I'm here for Diary of a Candidate Week Seven, in the City of London. I’m on the edge, by Moorgate Tube Station.
"A week, they say, is a long time in politics. And in the last week, when I was speaking with you on the day of the elections, we've seen huge changes and commentary on those results. We've also seen Summer arriving.
"But like the good news of the good weather, there was an awful lot to find that was positive in the results that we saw from those elections last week. We had a core base of support. Whilst the outcome, the individual wins and losses, weren't necessarily what we'd hoped for, it showed that there's a core body of support there for us to build on.
"We'll be out building on that body of support with sessions in K&B and Regent's Park this weekend, as well as a whole host of other activities, including a first campaign fundraising dinner that we held, in the constituency just two nights ago with Penny Mordaunt, thanks to her, for her support and thanks also to a Tony Devenish for his eight years of support as our local GLA member.
"I'm sorry we couldn't bring it home for you, Tony, but I wish you the very best for the future. To everyone else, thank you for everything that you did in that election campaign and I look forward to seeing you out on the general election campaign trail."
