Your local Conservative Councillors are working to make sure we help rough sleepers and residents by:
- Focusing on hotspots such as the Victoria Station and the Westminster Cathedral Piazza areas and dealing with problems more quickly and effectively.
- Working with the GLA & Central Government towards a UK-wide reconnection policy to ensure that everyone who is rough sleeping in Westminster gets shown a quick route away from the streets;
- Create more specialist roles for day centres and outreach teams to take rough sleepers off our streets
- Explain and help people to understand how soup runs sustain people on the streets and cause disruption and fear for residents.
One of your local Conservative Councillors’ main priorities is to reduce the impact rough sleepers have on residents. Westminster Council has dedicated teams who work 24 hours a day to do this and reduce any problems. But we want to do more and ensure that what we do really makes a difference to residents, businesses, visitors and the rough sleepers themselves.
